Core Job Functions:

Pickup and deliver library material between member libraries

Sort and organize materials throughout the day and upon returning to RAILS office(s)

Maintain appropriate record keeping and statistics of activities

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education –

High school diploma / GED required

Knowledge/Experience –

1 year previous delivery experience preferred

 Library experience preferred but not required

Working knowledge of basic computers, MS Office Suite software preferred;  experience using the internet

Skills/Abilities:                     

Ability to effectively speak and read English

Ability to adapt to a predetermined workflow pattern and its required priorities to carry out tasks with a high degree of accuracy and reliability

Ability to work autonomously while ensuring ongoing communication with the supervisor

Education:  High school diploma required; 2-5 years of experience in administrative office work or any equivalent combination of education and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

Position Description: 

We are looking for a friendly and approachable individual that enjoys working with people of all ages to work as a clerk in the Circulation and Interlibrary Loan Department.  This person will work daytime, weekend and evening hours. This position will rotate shifts between both the Winnetka Library and Northfield Branch. 

The candidate we are seeking to hire is detailed-orientated, values customer service, a self-starter and someone who likes to continuously learn new skills. This person will have opportunities to promote new and exciting library services and participate in various library events and activities.

Required qualifications include: High School Diploma or equivalent, one year experience in a library or similar experience, demonstrated good customer service skills, computer literacy with current MS Office proficiency, some knowledge of smartphones, tablets, and laptops, demonstrated cash handling skills, and the ability to work weekends and evenings.
